Excitement
about The Bariatric Prom is spreading. It’s even being covered by WBALTV news!
We’d
like to invite your company to be a part of this extraordinary inaugural event.
But
first, let’s take a step back. The Bariatric Prom will be a formal event held
on November 1, 2014 from 5 – 10 p.m. in Baltimore, MD. The Bariatric Prom will
be hosted by Bariatric Friends, a new group started by bariatric patients
Afrikus Hart and Nikki Massie. Moving forward, the group is dedicated to uplifting
the bariatric community so that we can help others to help themselves.
The Bariatric Prom was actually Nikki’s dream-child. She remembers that her prom was very stressful. She couldn’t find a dress she liked and didn’t feel very confident in her pictures. I didn’t even go to my prom for the same reasons. Nikki began to think how great it’d be to reclaim that memory by having a formal event to celebrate the hard work she’s done to lose 155 lbs. through RNY gastric bypass surgery. I myself have lost XXX lbs. and so I felt the same way. Thus, The Bariatric Prom was born!
This
event is open to all bariatric patients (and their dates) and will take place in
the event room at Morganview Apartments, 1500 Pentridge Road, Baltimore, MD
21239. There will be music, weight-loss surgery friendly food, the opportunity
to purchase instant portrait packages by Life Touch and the opportunity to
share our journeys through a special “Before and Now” slide show.
